A private residence in Saint-Cry-sur-Loire, France. A Mosaic in émaux de Briare from the beginning of the XX century, the bathroom required multiple resurfacings to repair the damage caused by water leaks as well as the removal of taps and water pipes.

Work undertaken: Cleansing, creation of a frieze for the floor in-keeping with existing style, repair of cracks and cleaning.

The most damaged parts of the mosaic is removed. The choice of restoration is the creation of a frieze around the edge, the existing flooring is cut in function.

Art Deco frieze

The frieze is made using the indirect technique on paper, the tesserae in pre-cut enamels are assembled in a pattern in harmony with the original drawing.

After the last finishes, the bathroom can be used again.

The original Briare enamels are exhausted, enamels from Donà are replacing and complement the decor without creating a rough visual break.
